Bio-connect Diagnostics is committed to provide you with the radioactive products you need. Not only labeled chemicals but also proteins, ligands, peptides, assay kits etc. Many compounds are offered with the isotope of your choice including 32P, 35S, 14C and tritium. Below you can find some of the suppliers that we represent which have products in this category.
Unstable atomic nuclei will spontaneously decompose to form nuclei with a higher stability. This process is called radioactivity. The energy and particles which are released during this process are called radiation.
There are three major types of radiation, alpha, beta and gamma radiation which have different properties. Alpha radiation is absorbed very easily. Beta radiation has a more pervasive character. The three different radiations can be distinguished by their magnetic field and all are dangerous.
The amount of radioactivity is given in becquerel (Bq), named after the scientist Henri Becquerel who discovered radioactivity along with Marie Curie. One Bq is defined as one transformation (or decay) per second. An older unit of radioactivity is curie, Ci, named after Marie Curie. 1 curie = 3,7.10e10 Bq.
