Scientific info: Product Characteristics: The Biomedica human DKK-1 (Dickkopf-1) Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) kit is a quick day test that is intended for the quantitative direct measurement of DKK-1 levels in human serum samples. The human DKK-1 ELISA is highly recognised with +130 references to date, CE certified and approved for in-vitro diagnostic use in the EU.Target information: Dickkopf-1 (DKK-1) is a 28.67 kDa secreted protein that acts as soluble inhibitor of the Wnt signalling pathway. This pathway contains lipid-modified glycoproteins that activate cell surface receptor-mediated signal transduction to regulate cell activities like: cell fate, proliferation, migration, polarity, and gene expression. DKK-1 regulates developmental processes of all kinds. Thus, DKK-1 is also involved in the regulation of bone metabolism as it effects osteoblast differentiation and in regulation of tumourgenetic activity.
